I have the OEM wireless USB C in my Model 3 and was having problems charging my S8+ with a slim case. The phone would get burning hot and stop charging/shutdown. After some testing, I found out that the case was thicker than the charger lip at the base causing the phone to be shifted up. A misaligned charger will create a lot of heat.
